Having realized the critical roles teaching, learning and assessment play in higher education, a National Action Research Conference in Higher Education (NARCHE) is organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. As a part of the conference, a one day workshop was held on 12th February 2020 in order to enhance the understanding of the fundamental principles of action research of the academics of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and other researchers affiliated to various universities and private and public sector organizations in Sri Lanka.
Prof. Prasad Sethunga of the Department of Education, University of Peradeniya who was the resource person of the workshop commenced the workshop by highlighting the importance of creating a platform for critical debate of research and innovation in teaching, learning and assessment practices in higher education and conducting action research in order to share good practices in teaching, learning and assessment among practitioners. The interactive and informative workshop was highly commended by the participants who received a letter of participation too at the end of the event.
