Dr. Bimali Indrarathna

Dr. Bimali Indrarathna is a senior lecturer attached to the Department of Education, University of York, United Kingdom. Before joining, York, Dr. Bimali has worked at King’s College London and Lancaster University, UK. Dr. Bimali holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and an MA in TESOL. Also, she holds both Cambridge DELTA and CELTA.

Dr. Bimali’s main research interest is in the area of second language acquisition, and particularly she is interested in investigating how cognitive aspects are related to input processing, the types of input that are more beneficial for learners and teacher’s role in providing language input to learners. She also works with teachers, teacher educators and policy planners on several research and teacher education projects related to language education and inclusive practices.
